

Delaware's War Memorial. Dedicated in 1951, it hosts annual Memorial and Veterans Day Ceremonies.
Delaware's War Memorial Park is located on a tree-covered hill overlooking the entrance to the Delaware Memorial Bridge. Taking its name from the memorial it contains, the park has been the site of special ceremonies on Memorial Day and Veterans' Day each year commemorate the sacrifices of U.S. war veterans.
The War Memorial itself consists of a Lasting Wall and a Reflecting Pool. Contained on the Wall are the names of 15,000 service men and women who were killed in World War II, the Korean War, the Vietnam War and the Gulf War. Standing near the Reflecting Pool is a "Soldier Statue" recently dedicated as part of the War Memorial. The statue, entitled "One Army", particularly honors those men and women of New Jersey and Delaware who died or were declared missing in action in combat since the Korean Conflict.
May 26, 2001 saw the dedication of another memorial to War Memorial Park. Constructed by the United States Submarine Veterans of World War II, the USS Kete Memorial is dedicated to the 87 men who died aboard the USS Kete when she was lost on March 20, 1945.
August 7, 2004 saw the dedication of a third memorial in War Memorial Park. Constructed by the Military Order of the Purple Heart, the monument is dedicated to veterans wounded by an instrument of war in the hands of the enemy, are killed in action, or die of wounds received in combat.
Annual Memorial Day ceremonies commence at 1030 hours and are held rain or shine under a tent constructed for the ceremonies. Hundreds of members of veterans organizations from Delaware, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania attend the services.
Receptions are held in various locations at the completion of ceremonies.
